What We Do

Life of a Consultant

Do we work to live LCG Consultants!

Working as a Consultant
LCG provides ideal personal growth opportunities. Starting as a Junior Consultant I quickly gained experience by being trained on the job and experiencing both exciting projects and demanding clients. Managing daily tasks as well as team work are essential attributes. Working in 5 countries (Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Denmark) within 18 months ensured a steep learning curve.

Various types of jobs
Consultancy is all about understanding the client’s business. For this very reason one task is to spend a day with a supervisor in his / her department and understand the entire organisation, material and information flows. That is only one possible task, others are as following:

Right hand (co-trainer) of the professional LCG trainer during training sessions on Change Management and coaching on the shop floor for Supervisors, communication role out and communicating our targets and what the reason for our appearance is, coordination with colleagues and client’s management (department heads) working together as a team and ensure a smooth project flow. Last but not least, cooperation with all employees (incl. trade unions) from the shop floor via middle management up to top management level CXO’s.

Motivation - Experiences
Not get stuck in an office or a single company for years were crucial factors why I choose to become a Consultant. The first steps are the most important ones in the life of any professional. Preparation for the first tasks and assignments is the foundation of Lausanne’s success and the results that were delivered.

Training on the job means education through experienced Project Managers and Directors and live application that leads to direct success. Overcoming the first obstacles by applying the “2 : 1 rule” (two ears, one mouth) – Consultants are more listeners than speakers. Whilst interacting with clients to find out the needs and improvement opportunities directly from the most valuable source: the client himself.

Work life balance - Friends and Family
Consultancy is a demanding business that keeps you always on the go. However, assignments, Analysis (Improvement Opportunity Reviews) and Projects, are organized in the most convenient way. Spending 5 days (Mo. – Fr.) on a project and week ends are always off, or being on 3 weeks rotation (applies to projects which do not allow returning home every w/e), but then 1 week off. Thus, meeting friends and family life are conveniently organisable. Lausanne cares for its employees Life of a consultant ...
