What We Do
Method
1. Account relationship development
Over a period of time, the Lausanne Consulting Group’s experienced account development team get to know our potential clients, key players within the company and the business itself. They work with this group to explore the potential for performance improvements. This first phase lays the foundations for a successful long-term relationship that results in the implementation of substantial operational and financial performance improvements.
2. Improvement opportunity review
The Lausanne Consulting Group conducts a detailed operational evaluation of the business to identify and quantify areas for operational and financial improvement. During this phase we examine business processes in considerable detail and observe activities as they are performed on a daily basis. This lasts two to three weeks. At the end of this exercise, our clients are presented with a proposal for performance improvement, complete with objectives, methodology and a week-by-week schedule of activities and costs. Importantly, our clients also receive a cost-benefit-analysis detailing the return they can expect on their investment.
3. Opportunity implementation and delivery
Working with our clients and their teams, the Lausanne Consulting Group implements the proposed improvement programme. To achieve successful implementation, all programmes go through four distinct yet inherently linked steps: further analysis, development, implementation and follow-up.
- Analysis is designed to involve all participants in the project, to allow them to understand how the improvements have been identified and to get them to start looking forward to implementing new ways of working.
- Development involves building specific improvement solutions that will be implemented. At this stage, we work with end-users to gain buy-in and test solutions.
- Implementation is where we work on behaviours, organisations, structures and information systems to support the implementation of improvement solutions.
The follow-up phase ensures that the improvements implemented are exactly that, improvements, and that these improvements work and are understood by all users. This step involves a considerable amount of training and communications activity.
Throughout the opportunity implementation and delivery phase the Lausanne Consulting Group maintains tight weekly control of both operational and financial progress on programmes. This enables our clients to see and measure the results in the short- and medium-term.
The Lausanne Consulting Group also encourages clients to dedicate full time resources to work closely with us and to be trained in our methods of project management. This ensures that the programme and improvements are maintained after completion.
