Issues

As with many manufacturing environment productivity is a key indicator. Lausanne consulting undertakes to increase productivity in several key areas. Throughout these projects several issues concerned our client.

Throughput A need to increase production of cars per shift/day.

OEE (Operational Equipment Efficiency) Machine utilisation had potential for increase. In addition to these two main areas there were several additional benefits to be achieved. For instance having addressed the main two isseus we would be able to decrease the HPV (Hours Per Vehicle) a critical automotive benchmark. Quality indicator improvements could also be addressed, and an improvement in first line supervision organization.

 

Objectives

  1. * Multiple projects in the component and car assembly sites in France, Spain, & UK
    * Deployment of across the group of the SVA (Active Supervision) concept

 

 

Selection of Benefits

  1. * 7% increase in the number of cars produced by eliminating the bottlenecks in a foundry plant then in the engine plant and finally in the body in white area of the assembly site
    * 10% increase in the OEE figure in a component site
    * 5% improvement in the finally assembly aspect quality figure
    * Improvement of managerial competence of the first line supervisors and managers by active supervision training & coaching
